On April 15, 1975, the Pambansang Katipunan ng Kabataang Barangay ng Pilipinas was established, aiming to protect the rights and responsibilities of Filipino youth while adhering to the country’s laws.
This movement was solidified through Presidential Decree No. 684, which defined and strengthened the role of the Kabataang Barangay (KB) in 42,000 barangays across the country. At its helm was none other than Imee Marcos, the President’s daughter and a passionate youth leader, who became the first chairperson of the KB.
